EREV SHABBAT

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANOUNCE

Erev Shabbat" Worship through learning" will be held the THIRD  Friday evening each month  at  6:30 pm with candle lighting, blessings  a lite meal, and a period of familiarization with traditions and reasons for them, sort of a Messianic Jewish Studies for Newbies.

People already in the Messianic movement are asked to also attend to help educate the new people and build our fellowship into a family. In 3 months we would like have the people attending lead Friday evening worship including candle lighting and basic blessings in other members homes, teaching them the basic traditions, the meanings behind them, and the Joy of Shabbat. Within the next year we hope to teach all our member families the basic blessings in English and Hebrew for Erev Shabbat celebration and see them keeping Shabbat in the home.
We encourage families to attend both Erev Shabbat and Shabbat morning services as it is a good thing to gather together to minister to one another, and study Torah  in a group setting.

If you would like to host an Erev Shabbat dinner and Chavurah gathering  please Contact Roehclay . Although we have only one friday scheduled we will happily increase to what ever the Kol Shalom family Wishes.
In an average Erev shabbat we will have fellowship, candle lighting, Kiddush ,and Hamotzi .Then have a (usually) one dish meal ( biblically Kosher ) group study or a movie. blessings over the children and Prayer and the Aaronic Blessing

Shabbat Morning Service

Shabbat Morning service is held at 10:00 am each Saturday all are welcome.   Pre service prayer session is at 9:45 am.

Our Shabbat morning service is a combination praise and Worship and Torah service. Like most synagogues it is liturgically based however we do the prayers and blessings in both English and Hebrew. Our service currently uses about 30% of the traditional liturgy as members of the congregation learn the Hebrew language.

Everyone is welcome at our services

we ask  however  that proper respect be shown for the facilities that have been provided  for our use, as well as the Leadership and the people visiting the shul.

WE ARE ALL HERE TO WORSHIP HASHEM AND LEARN HIS WORD!

       Torah Study /        Hebrew class

Where would we be without Torah? As Jews we are called people of the book. The book is the Torah and our love and honoring of the word of HaShem is known throughout the world. How then are we to prepare ourselves as Jews, be it Traditional or Messianic if we can not read "The Book". As Messianic Believers in Yeshua the Messiah it is also important to be able to understand the context as well as period meaning of what we find in scripture. How better than by learning the Hebrew language in it's biblical form.  See below for more information.

Liturgy classes

We encourage all members of leadership as well as other interested persons are to participate in classes to gain a better understanding of the liturgy as found in our siddur.

Kol Shalom Messianic Synagogue uses a liturgical format similar to that once used at Roeh Y'srael Messianic Synagogue in Harrisburg PA. We will use a combination of Hebrew and English in the conducting of services and will integrate new portions of the liturgy into the service as they are learned by the congregation.
